Service Startup Domains
The following information about domains apply when starting services:
- If starting a service directly, not through an RSM, the service will start on the ambient domain.
- If starting an RSM directly, not through CygNet Host Manager, if specified, it will use the value of the DOMAIN keyword in service configuration file. Otherwise it will start on the ambient domain.
- If starting an RSM through CygNet Host Manager, if specified, it uses the domain specified in the Host Settings dialog box. The RSM must be running as a service. Otherwise it will start on the ambient domain.
Once an RSM is running on a domain, all services that it starts will be on the same domain.
